Initial Observations
DWI Arrest Process > Initial Obsv/SFST > Initial Observations

The Initial Observations section is where the arresting officer enters initial observations made on the arrestee including: Level of Impairment, Odor of Alcohol Beverage, Balance, Speech, Indication of Drug Use and Observations.

NOTE: Level of Impairment and Odor of Alcohol Beverage are required fields.

 

Initial Observations section on Field Test page

 

To enter initial observations made on the arrestee:

  1. Level of Impairment:  Select the observation made on the arrestee’s impairment level
  2. Odor of Alcohol Beverage:  Select the observation made on the arrestee’s alcohol odor
  3. Balance:  Select the observation made on the arrestee’s balance
  4. Speech:  Select the observation made on the arrestee’s speech
  5. Indication of Drug Use?: Select Yes if drug use is suspected; otherwise select No
  6. Observations:  Enter any additional initial observations made on the arrestee

 

To continue with the DWI Arrest draft, the officer can move to any of the additional Field Test sections by clicking on the section header or the + symbol in the header bar; or can continue with the DWI Arrest draft and move to the appropriate page by clicking on a tab in the case menu at the right side of the screen.
