DWI Arrest Process > Case Officer(s)

The Case Officers page displays the information regarding the Arresting Officer(s), the Administerer of DPS Rights, the Witness(es) to DPS Rights, the Testing Officer, and any additional officers involved in the DWI arrest. From this page, the logged in officer can review their pre-populated information and/or assigned roles and add additional officers to the DWI Arrest draft.

Case officers can be added by searching existing LADRIVING users or through manual entry for officers involved who have not yet enrolled. The first four officers added (highlighted yellow) will be listed as witnesses on the Certification of Arrest. Case officers who are assigned a role (or multiple roles) will be listed within the appropriate role section on the Case Officers Document. Case officers who are not assigned a role (annotated with NO ROLE ASSIGNED) will be listed as Additional Officers on the Case Officers Document.

Note: Case Officers can be assigned multiple roles. However, only one officer can be assigned to the following roles:

  • Administerer or DPS Rights
  • Testing Officer

If one of these roles is already assigned to a case officer and new officer is assigned the role, the role will be reassigned to the new officer.

Note: In order to assign an officer the Testing Officer role, the officer must have an Intoxilyzer Certification Number.

See Managing Case Officers for help on adding, editing, and removing additional case officers.
